Solana Name Service x Wormhole

There’s no denying that Wormhole has an immense capacity to expand the Solana/Bonfida ecosystem. That’s why we’ve been working on taking the Solana name service (SNS) cross-chain in a joint effort.

To us, working with Wormhole was one of the most practical choices to make. The vision of maintaining our nucleus of decentralization and trustlessness is very closely supported by their bridge.

When the first part of the integration is complete you will be able to replace your pubkey (wallet address) with a .sol domain on all supported chain(s). In simpler terms; your domain's usability expands to more than just Solana. Given that you have natively obtained a domain, you can use it on "xyz" just like you do now.

Why go cross-chain?

Broadening the reach amongst different ecosystems & increasing the utility of SNS is our main priority. Candidly, we see a future where .sol's will be more than a domain & rather something that can ultimately act as a digital passport. We have the expertise and just need to take the steps one at a time to get there, which this initiative is a part of.

Of course, this integration increases partnership opportunities, expanding from wallets to GameFi and many others too. Solana still is and will always stay where our hearts are and the place we intentionally want to onboard more users!

Lastly, our focus is devoted to SNS & solidifying its place in the future - creating a place where your domain has value regardless of volatility.
