SNS 2023 wrap up

2023 was a record-breaking year for the Solana Name Service. We hit a huge number of milestones, over 100K followers on X, over 200K domain names registered, over 85K unique owners and 35 new partners added. This along with some cool developments such as pushing domains cross-chain, the SNS artist spotlight, increased dev content and more.

New dev tutorials

The Bonfida intern is taking his job seriously! He takes the jargon from our devs and explains it to us like we are 5 years old. It's made so simple, even the intern can do it.

The first tutorial covers setting up verified ETH addresses with your SNS domains using Records V2.

The next one covers the importance of favoriting .sol domain names in dApps, exactly how to resolve them and then for the users it includes how to set it up.

The volume incentive comes to an end

Time flies when you are having fun. The new years brings the end of yet another cAirdrop campaign, the volume incentive. The campaign set out to reward .sol buyers and resulted in over 130K FIDA being rewarded.

Thank you to all the SNS degens for participating! The next campaign will be bigger and better.

New year, new fees

We've introduced a brand spanking new reduced fee system on sns.id that makes Bonfida the MOST competitive marketplace to trade domain names.

By adopting a maker-taker model, makers are no eligible for rebates and takers get reduced fees by simply holding $FIDA.

This initiative is one of the many we've implemented to bring as many benefits as possible back to our users. That, and to further solidify Bonfida as the center for all things SNS. We hope that with these fee reductions, the usual fun of SNS trading is amplified tenfold!
