Unfortunate Circumstances: Twitter

We’re incredibly frustrated about the recent suspension of our Twitter account @bonfida. This is the main line of communication between the project and its users apart from Telegram and Discord. The Bonfida team has actively been trying to rectify the suspension as no Twitter policies have been broken nor were we given a reason for the suspension of this severity. Alas, we have submitted an appeal and are working alongside a representative to potentially speed up the process.

Recently, accounts impersonating @bonfida hosted a scam that we suspect has led to the suspension of the legitimate account. Even though a community member kindly pointed this out, unfortunately, the handles seemed too similar and may have caused confusion amongst users reporting or the Twitter team when the “violation” was evaluated.

What can we do now?

Since we have no estimated timeline for when the suspension will be lifted, we have decided to create a Mastodon account to keep the communication going.

We’re happy with the alternative and will continue populating the account regardless of Twitter’s appeal assessment outcome.
