Statistics

The final Monday-to-Monday stats for the month revealed that we had approximately 1.5K new domain registrations and 870 secondary sales for the month of February. This concluded a total volume of $65K USD.

Developments

Beta testing for peer-to-peer trading is live

Thanks to yet another community member request we've been able to package a really cool new feature; P2P trading of domain names!

Peer-to-peer trading takes place exclusively between two individuals but with a mechanism where domains are safely held until the specific trade conditions are met. These trades can be domain only or SOL can be included to make the offer more attractive.

The new feature includes:

Small SNS improvements

We tackled some smaller improvements this week too;

  1. Removed expired auctions from the domain browsing page. Now your feed won’t be populated with domains that aren’t for sale anymore
  2. The SNS statistics page is now live on mobile too
  3. Unnecessary or outdated tokens have been removed as payment methods

Burnable Domains

Parent and sub-domains can now be burned on our UI. Burning a domain is irreversible, so do not do it if you are unsure! The incentive behind adding a burn option is to keep the ecosystem clean and get rid of unwanted domains.

When a domain is burned you will get some SOL back and the burned domain will return to the registry (that is, allow someone else to register it if they wish). If you mistakenly burned a domain, the only way for you to get that domain back is to register it again. Sub-domains of course work differently and you can just create the same sub-domain again.

The end of an educational mini-series

This week we dropped part four of the mini-series! In this series, we really focused on the fact that it doesn't all have to be that complicated. Mostly simplicity is key and that’s what we kept to. Each part of the mini-series is no longer than a 4-minute read and an easy way to learn a little.

Throughout the mini-series, we’ve figured out what decentralized identifiers are, why an on-chain identity is important, exactly what an on-chain identity is, and the last topic discussed this week was what it takes to build an on-chain reputation.

Feedback Campaign Updates

All the community feedback has allowed us to create a jam-packed roadmap so far. Every week we add more requests to the board and try to deliver on at least two to three of them weekly. Those who make valuable suggestions continue to be rewarded as they help us grow and improve.

You can track the roadmap changes and make suggestions here: https://bonfida.upvoty.com/
